A team of BAK, accompanied by Dr Michel Louette from the Royal Museum of Central Africa in Tervuren and by Professor Adrian Craig from Rhodes University, went all around Katanga looking for marsh weaver birds. The mission, which lasted two and a half weeks, was positive. Three of the four species that were looked for were found and studied. This mission allowed to observe 190 birds species among which some were captured to collect some blood for DNA testing and to ring before being released. |
