Seen from above with its dark wings with whitish panel, it could be confused with the long-crested eagle but its white streaked belly helps to distinguish it.
Also resembles the ayre's hawk eagle but is larger and has white unspotted thighs. |

Common in Katanga. Does not like open plains. Sedentary. |
