Call :  
     
Description :   Brown with lighter underparts. No hoopoe. Large and strong beak. The young looks quite similar to the great spotted cuckoo with its back covered with white spots. However, the stripes on its head are dark rather than black. 
     
Habitat :   Not really common in Katanga. Only a few observations are known from Dikulwe and Kasaji.

Life history :   Parasite, it lays its eggs in Sturnidae and helmet-shrikes' nests.
