Call :  
     
Description :   Differs from the African barred Owlet by its smaller size and its unbarred upperparts. Rather, there is white spotting on the back and tail. It has two black spots looking like eyes on the nape.  
     
Habitat :   Very common in Katanga. Found in many habitats, mainly in acacias' savannahs.  
     
Behaviour :   Sometimes steal the prey that parents bring to their chicks at the nest. It is then active during the day.  
     
Diet :   Feeds on small vertabrates and on insects.  
     
Life history :   Nidification takes place during the dry season.
