Description :   Brown streaked bird with a black throat and a bright yellow rump. Female has no yellow on the rump, is duller and has almost no black on the throat. Black throat in male is more obvious during the breeding season.  
     
Habitat :   Bushy savanna, likes to have water nearby.  
     
Behaviour :   Gregarious. 
     
Diet :   Seeds.  
     
Life history :   Nidification takes place at the end of the rainy season. Nest is placed in a bush.
