Call :  
     
Description :   Distinguished from its cousin P. afra by the red mask extending down the throat. It also lacks the orange wing panel. Otherwise, also has a green-yellow back and a barred belly. 
     
Habitat :   Less common than its cousin, it is mainly seen in the South of the province.  
     
Behaviour :   Ground feeder. 
     
Diet :   Seeds, sometimes insects.  
     
Life history :   Nest is a ball of grass placed in a bush at changeable heights. Nidification takes place during the second part of the rainy season.
