Call :  
     
Description :   Used to be considered as a subspecies of P. velatus. Breeding male is yellow with a black mask. This black mask terminates on the forehead (not on the mid-crown) and forms a point on the throat. Female, like all yellow weavers females, is green-pale yellow.  
     
Habitat :    
     
Behaviour :   Gregarious bird that likes savanna on the edge of rivers. 
     
Diet :   Seeds but also insects.  
     
Life history :   Nest during the second part of the rainy season. The nest is triangular with a short access tunnel situated in the inferior part.
